Since the1970s, China began to build arch bridge with suspender, Half through or though arch bridge became common bridge of large span because of the advantage about beautiful bridge, crossing ability overall stability. Half through or though arch bridge is a complex structure, suspender is the most important power transmission components and easily damaged too. It has created great losses about casualties and economic because of the collapse of many half through or though arch bridge, the study on suspender replacement of half through or though arch bridge will have important worth.It describes the half through or though arch bridge features and research status for such bridge replacement in this paper; explanning the suspender construction and the breaking of suspender;to aid Nanhuan canal bridge as the background, First Choosing a reasonable suspender replacement program based on the specific circumstances of the actual project. Through the establishment of pre-construction finite element models to simulate analyze bridge construction process of each component of the force, researching temporary boom system to ensure its safety during construction.Construction control of suspender replacement is an important part of the construction process, it has great significance for the success of replacement. It studied the construction monitoring of suspender replacement for Nanhuan canal bridge. It also introduced the technology of control points and construction monitoring. At last, it analysis the monitoring results combining the finite element analysis software. The study in this paper can guide the suspender replacement construction and monitoring construction of half through or though arch bridge, it will have a wide range of engineering significance and application value.
