Because the urban population is concentrated, and building density is excessive,explosion accident from city gas pipeline leakage, will cause heavy casualties and hugeproperty losses. We need to strengthen the pipeline integrity management to protect thepersonal and property safety. In the city gas pipeline integrity management, pipelinemaintenance and safe operation have become an important research topic. We need to studyurban gas pipeline vulnerability and pipeline leak detection technology. The article bases onthe pipeline maintenance and safe operation, analyses and assesses city gas pipelinevulnerability, determines the pipeline leakage weak links, and uses the ultrasonic method forpipeline leak detection. The main content of the paper and the conclusion is as follows:1.The article analyses the development of gas pipeline integrity management In thedomestic and overseas, bases on the principle of gas pipeline integrity management, and sumsup the gas pipeline vulnerability and pipeline safety testing technology.2. It uses the method of gas pipeline integrity management, evaluate the vulnerability ofcity gas pipeline, and indicate the direction of the gas pipeline leak detection technologyresearch.3.The topic studies sonic signal of gas pipeline leakage, adopts ultrasonic leak detectionmethod.And it puts forward the process of gas pipeline leak detection.4. The topic uses the second generation wavelet transform principle which combiningwith interpolation subdivision and constructing predict operators and update operators. Itpreprocesses the sonic signal of gas pipeline leak. Then it extracts the characteristics of lowfrequency useful signal. Noise processing separates background noise effectively. It improvesthe noise ratio of ultrasonic, which becomes a foundation for subsequent Leak identification.5. In view of the SCADA system does not provide ultrasonic signal measurement, itdevelops the embedded high speed sonic data acquisition system. The system can effectivelyobtain ultrasonic signal, and has strong real-time performance, high accuracy, low powerconsumption, strong portability, strong portability, easy to operate and low price.
