The leak of pipeline system of the aircraft can affect the working of the aircraft. The hydraulic oil, fuel and lubricating oil is mainly used in the aircraft. The oil is widely distributed in many places where are prone to leakage. The places which we need check the oil leakage are various, so the oil leak detection problem has always been a heavy and complex problem in the aircraft maintenance process. Concerning this issue, a method is presented to detect the leak of the pipeline in the aircraft using the image processing technology in the paper, to assist traditional manual leak detection. The main content is shown below:1.Based on the characteristics of line images, three different methods to position the joint in the images are proposed.The first method is positioning method independently. The method turns the color image to gray scale, using histogram equalization to gray-scale image enhancement, then adopts the method of median filter to filter the noise. A new edge detection method is presented. It combines the mathematical morphology and wavelet transform. The simulation outcome indicates that the edge detection algorithm proposed in the paper can make the edge detection of the plane line clearly and coherently. After experimental researches, the method can't achieve the aim to position the joint.The second method is localization method based on color mark. Firstly, we mark the position of the joint in the edge image, then we deal with the plane line image. The position of the joint is clear, if the position marked with color is positioned.The third method is localization method based on position notation. When the camera is fixed, the position of the pipe joint is fixed in the image. And the position of the pipe joint coordinates is clear directly.2. A method is presented to detect oil leakage based on distance measure methods error. By extracting the average color, the method can calculate the DMME in the paper. After analyzing the DMME data, the threshold valve to detect pipeline leak is calculated.The experiment results show that the method presented to detect oil leakage can check pipeline for oil leak preliminary and achieve the designed goals.
