Recreational Greenway Space Layout Evaluation

With urbanization entering a new stage in China, more than50%of people arenow living in the urban areas. As urban pollution is serious, more and more cityresidents want to go back to the natural. Greenway is a kind of landscape ecologicalinfrastructure. It can coordinate the relation of the environment and human being. Inrecent years it has gradually be taken seriously. Greenway has been the researchfrontiers of multiple disciplines such as landscape ecology, urban planning andlandscape design in foreign countries. The work of Greenway design are also widelyused in landscape planning and space design. However, both the greenway researchand practice are in the start-up phase. The recreation function of greenway is notbeing paid attention. Few studies are carried out from geography.Based on geography, this paper first reviews the greenway research home andabroad, then study related evaluation system using literature analysis method. It canbe concluded that regional environmental conditions, internal spatial structure,tourism resource value are the focus of experts and scholars. Considering Baoshangreenway features and people’s recreational needs, an evaluation system with22indexes are built up to evaluate greenway in Baoshan. The evaluation system anddetermine the scoring criteria are built through Delphi expert consultation method.The evaluation system is based on three aspects: space layout, the greenway systemand recreational value.10experts are consulted for the index weight. After thecalculation by YAAHP group calculation software, we can get the weight of eachindex. Results show that the top4highest indexes are residents accessibility, thequality of landscape, recreation resource type and accessibility, which weight to0.47.It means that people want greenway to be location convenient, easy to enter, withabundant recreation resources.After building the evaluation system and determining weights, the studyevaluates Baoshan greenway.According to the index system of12indicators, usinggeography, tourism, landscape aesthetics, statistics methods, investigate and analysisBaoshan greenway. Survey results show that of11indexes, the highest score is100for recreation resources of historical and cultural value, followed by the greenwayfacilities, recreational resources richness and accessibility, both scoring90points.Baoshan greenway is full of recreational resource, of high historical and culturalvalues, good recreation resources and rereational resources can facilitate the greenwayusers. However, Baoshan greenway is not well known, only has30points; Therecreation facilities (bike rental points) is imperfect, gets30points as well. The finalscore of Baoshan district green evaluation is72.95,in second class.Finally, after considering the evaluation index system of baoshan and the resultsof the survey and field observation, put forward the research insufficient.
