The Research For The Building Of Youth Hostel In Ethnic Minority Regions Of Yunnan

The Youth Hostel (YH) is a rising hostel building type in China. Since came to China in1999, it kept rapid development. The theoretical research on YH mainly focus on economics and tourist management; and theoretical research on architectural design is insufficient, as well as the theory on YH building design aiming at ethic minority regions.Firstly, this thesis begins with researching on general features of YH building, summarize the feature of functional orientation and space construction of YH in ethnic minority regions on the basis of field survey, which provide theory on design for YH building and example for this type. Second, the thesis discusses the design strategy of YH, which is under certain environment, namely, the tourist environment of Samaba Haqniq Terraced Fields in Honghe. Under the guidance of these theory and strategy, the thesis deliberates and confirms the plane design of YH building, composite pattern of architectural space and design concept of building form and methods in Samaba Haqniq Terraced Fields of Honghe.Lastly, the thesis introduces site planning of YH in Samaba Haqniq Terraced Fields of Honghe and its12single building design. These results present serialized architecture design that is "matchable","abridgable" and suitable for ethic minority regions formed by "Modularized" concept, and reflect the characteristic of flexibility of space and replicability of design pattern in the tourist environment of Samaba Haqniq Terraced Fields in Honghe.
