Small hydropower belongs to not only the non-carbon clean energy, but also the renewable green energy. Using local conditions to develop small hydropower resources and giving full play to the local water resources to develop small-hydro projects. By this way, the hold power can be transformed into a multi-purpose power, which not only have practical significance on helping the underdeveloped areas out of poverty and improving people’s living standards, but also have a very important role on protecting the environment and promoting the coordinated development of the rural social economy.Concerning the shortcomings of traditional structure of generator and power generation mode, a new tubular diving generator is introduced in this paper, using sluice gate hole to carry out the small hydropower experiment based on the existing favorable conditions of generating. The structure will greatly simplify the structure of the traditional hydraulic turbine, which makes the overall volume of the generating set less, and correspondingly narrows the power equipment of space volume. Because of the adoption of asynchronous generator and no need to change pole and frequency conversion when connected to the grid, the equipment investment therefore can be reduced.The self-excited induction generator and parallel operation are introduced in this paper. The related simulation researches are carried out by MATLAB/Simulink, which can provide theoretical basis for engineering implementation. The selection and parameters related of this new all-Tubular diving turbine are calculated, and at the same time the installation plan to carry on the design of the unit is provided. Combining the theory data of the generators running and the overall cost of the project, the benefit is analyzed. By introducing the relevant circumstances of many reservoirs and pumping stations in the province, it pointed out that the use of sluice gates holes diving generation has great application value.
