Energy security and climate change is a major issue which all countries face in the world. In recent years, the major developed countries of the world have been carrying out a smart grid-related research, the rapid development of smart grid technology at home and abroad has been widely used, grid intelligent direction has become an inevitable trend.For promoting the development of new technologies and new clean energy applications, Shandong power grid standardized the overall arrangement, to proceed with the principle,"in close connection with the specific circumstances of the Shandong power grid, carried out overall organization Shandong power grid intelligent planning and construction, and vigorously promote the construction of Shandong strong and smart grid."In this paper, the actual situation of the Shandong power grid intelligent focus on the technical characteristics and composition, a careful analysis of the status of the Shandong power grid intelligent technology applications, advantages and shortcomings; familiar with the Shandong power grid intelligent planning-smart substation construction of intelligent network planning objectives, key projects, the construction scale and target, and the primary task of speeding up the construction of smart grid and focus, clear the smart grid, and then proposed220kV substation intelligent optimize the design, and has a guiding role in the construction of intelligent grid. In the first chapter introduces the current status of smart grid development and research background and describes the basic principles of intelligent substation intelligent substation technical features and composition features intelligent substation design key factors; parse explained in Chapter Ⅱ the intelligent substation equipment structure, characteristics, respectively, the intelligent substation equipment several selection schemes; illustrates the characteristics and development of intelligent substation automation and auxiliary secondary system constitutes the third chapter summarizes the secondary and auxiliary several different components of the system program;220kV substation for example, in the fourth chapter elaborated on the practical application of the design.220kV substation is an important part of the grid structure, intelligent substation design is a very complex issue, which is the key to affect the smart grid construction. This paper, the work is done partially, and it need to work harder in the future, for contributing to the development of the smart grid.
