Vortex generators of the wind turbine is an effective way to control the flow separating, this paper analyzes the effect of the shape, arrangement and chordwise installation location of vortex generators on the airfoil aerodynamic performance by the way of numerical simulation. First, we used both S-A and Transition SST turbulence model with vortex generators on DU97-W-300airfoil flow field numerical simulation, by comparison with experimental data, verified the accuracy of numerical methods. On this basis, we calculated and analyzed the airfoil flow field of four different types and three different chordwise location to install the vortex generators.The results show that, in delay stall angle of attack and increase the maximum lift coefficient aspects:the best effect is symmetric rectangular vortex generators, followed by the symmetric triangular and symmetric anti-triangular vortex generators, the worst effects is the parallel triangle vortex generators; in terms of reducing the drag coefficient: the best effect is symmetric triangular vortex generators, followed by the symmetric anti-triangular and symmetric rectangular vortex generators, the worst effects is the parallel triangle vortex generators; different chordwise location to install the vortex generators has a different influence on airfoil lift and drag:the vortex generators installed at20%C has the best lift increase and drag reduction, followed by10%C, and the vortex generators installed at30%C has the worst lift increase and drag reduction.
