Analysis And Study On Traffic Jams Of The Downtown Area Of Chongqing City

Communications is the important factor of operation and development in the big cites, and cites almost face traffic jams in process of modernization. The traffic open has a major impact on city’s economic development and city dwellers’life. The traffic jam will hurt people’s trip, city’s air quality and environment, resources use, city’s development. So the solutions and research of traffic jam is necessary.Firstly, this paper has produced briefly the theory of traffic jams, and then take case of the downtown area of Chongqing city, this paper has analyzed the factor of urban traffic from Infrastructure, vehicle, management. Then the model of traffic jam has been set up by using AHP, and the portfolio weighting is calculated and arrayed. Finally the importance of the factors has been analyzed, and the traffic jam of Chongqing is commented on.This paper has compared with the solutions in other cities, and advanced the countermeasures of traffic jam from urban transportation infrastructure, transportation management, the public transport system. These solutions are provided reference for the transportation sustainability of the downtown area of Chongqing city.
