Study On Pubilc Spaces In The Downtown Of ChongQing

The study is origined by the writer's sattentions of the phenomena of rapid developments in downtown public spaces and the concomitant conflicts and problems in China recently.During the the lessons and projects of CITY DESIGN OF JIEFANGBEI lead by his mentor, the writer attempts to widen and deepen the scopes,then to study the common issue of downtown public space fully and systematically after the hole processes including local investigating, analysing, summarizing and conceiving,which is based on abundant material.The major feature and method of this study is practice.The study begins with the multi-leveled and multi-aspected practical analyse of the public space of JIEFANGBEI?the Chongqing's downtown and CBD,and atempts to evaluate its functions,effects,and even the various causes and results of them.Moreover,the writer brings out the rough blueprint and detailed design individually in some places recuring to abroad and domestic theories and practise,which is aimed at sovling the pratical problem, making the public space maximum healthy and perfect.The structure of the study is composed by four partstthe theories,the present situations,the plans and the examples,which follows the basic methods and procedures of city plan that is putting forward problems,analysing them and solving them.The part of theories includes the first chapter and the second chapter.This part introduces the concepts and the characters of the downtown public space and summarizes the abroad and domestic pratical fruits systematiclly and then to predicts the trend and elighten the following conceives.The part of present situations includes the third chapter. This part shows the whole present effects and lessons of JIEFANGBEI public space in multi-aspect and multi-angle and makes deep analyses on the advantages and the disadvantages.The part of present situations includes the fourth chapter. Considering the influences of the given backgroud,this part enlightened by the first part elicits the rough contrive that constructed by the eight essential factors for the JIEFANGBEI district including sources,contents and measurements to enhence the systematism and instruction.The part of examples is the practice of the former parts including the fifth chapter.This part puts the contrives into effects and shows the core idea vividly.The tenet of this study about the depth and levels is: to grasp the structure inmacro-view,to control elements in midle-view,to guide the construction in micro-view.
