| Behavior-center design, proposed another thinking direction that was different with user-centered design (UCD) theory. The designer’s job is not just to observe users’ behavior, thenwith the design to cater to the observing results. Designers should also guide the users’ behaviorwith design at the right time and space besides supporting the basic requirement. Then influencethe direction and results of activities and thus achieve the goal beyond design itself. This kindof design thinking agree with the basic idea of persuasive theory.Simply, Persuasive Design is design with persuasive intent. Interaction design concernsabout how to complete a task smoothly, and then help achieving the user goal. But PersuasiveDesign concerns about how to impact users to start certain task, and how to change user’sattitude and behavior, the key part is the context of the behavior, especially the motivation, ability and triggers that can result in the behavior. This paper explained the definition, characteristics of persuasive techniques and theproblems of combining technique with practice. The paper also explained the basic theory ofchanging human behavior by Persuasive Design. Based on the original point, changing behaviorand intent with computer, researched other practice field and the persuasive steps. This paperalso summarizes the several structure modes of persuasive design and the matters needingattention.More importantly, we choose an available field, health behaviors oriented persuasivedesign. Then, based on the theory and PSD model, we analyzed the technical background, buildup a persuasive system based on smart phone and get the opportunities and technical principlesof persuasive design by observation, interviews, questions-paper among a given population. Finally, we designed a health behavior oriented app, presented the practical methods and stepsof the operation; In addition, this paper also researched on persuasive ability, usability, ethicalevaluation method of persuasive design. This paper can guide interaction design and productdesign practice or research, provide effective design inspiration to create more influentialproducts. |
