With the rapid development of modern industry and the engine performance requirements more and more high, it is also much more strict to the requirement of the internal filter of engine. Fuel filter is one of the important parts of the engine, whose performance will directly affect the engine performance and life expectancy.At the same time,it is directly related to the engine performance and fuel economy. Therefore, it is very necessary from both in terms of improving the efficiency of the engine with the economy and in prolonging the life of ways that carrying out the fuel filter internal CFD analysis and the research of flow field. Because it can grasp by small flow resistance and the stability of the internal flow field characteristics, which can also provide theoretical basis to optimize the design of the filter structure through the simulation analysis.Due to the internal structure and working environment of the filter, it is very difficult that to truly understand the internal flow field characteristic.Only the experimental conditions and experience to develop fuel filter are not only high cost and great blindness, but also unable grasp its internal flow field of comprehensive information. The stucture of the fuel filter is improved and designed by the use of fluid CFD analysis software. It will be more convenient and simple.All kinds of fuel filter is applied to the modern automotive industry through the investigation and analysis. The working process and structure characteristics are deeply analyzed, which can fully grasp the influence relation of the car performance.According to the theory of fluid mechanics, the mathematical model of internal flow field is established by the use of software CFD which is considered as the efficient fluid flow field characteristic when the car filter works. Meanwhile, it also gives the boundary constraint conditions. Through the simulation example of Fluent software,we can find that it can verify the rationality and validity of the filter structure optimization. Otherwise, It proposes the determine method of the fuel filter and make sure the rule of the internal flow field pressure loss. The way to improve the internal flow field characteristics is been given at last, which can set a certain theoretical basis for the designing high performance and high standards of automobile fuel filter mat.
