Currently, China’s highway mileage has reached105,000km,4.4million kilometers totalroad mileage. Lots of roads has been reached maintenance cycles, needed to introduceeconomic construction of effective and convenient methods of preventive maintenance.Micro-surfacing is made of polymer-modified asphalt emulsion, aggregates, fillers, water andadmixtures according to a certain ratio, through specialized construction equipment of asphaltpaver to the pavement, achieve rapid opening requirements of thin-layer structure.Microsurfacing is an economical and environmentally friendly preventive maintenancemeasures. It can be easily constructed and the traffic is open quickly. Micro-surfacing can beeffectively repaired tracks, improving pavement skid resistance effect, delaying the pavementservice life, are suitable for the promotion of preventative maintenance techniques.This paper studyed on modified asphalt emulsion which is the main influence factors inthis technic. This article discusses the selection of emulsifiers and modified method, select asuitable emulsifying agent, and modifiers.The effect and demulsification mechanism ofmodification, compatibility of modified emulsified asphalt and aggregate is studied. Theinfluences of emulsifier and modifiers on the properties of modified asphalt emulsionevaporation residue effect and storage stability has been studyed, and the formula modifiedasphalt emulsion formulations has been optimized.In addition, a study on mixture ratio of micro-surfacing mixture,and further on theworkability of the mixture and road performance is studied. the types of emulsifiers,properties and gradation of aggregate, modified asphalt emulsion, additives, and otherimportant factors on the performance of mixture effects has been summarized.Good effecthas been received after the test road has been paved at suitable climatic optimum.
