Energy lays foundations of our survival and economic developments. With the development of the economy, energy problem is more and more serious, whereas the requirement increased with a speed of2%annually. Especially, due to the faster consumption and higher load in recent years than before, power rationing even interrupt happened in more than half of the provinces (cities, district) in our country. Universities have always been playing an important role in the power consumption in which more than30-40%of the power was used for lighting. Unfortunately, lots of energy for lighting was wasted, for example the existence of ever-living lamps, due to the fact of large amount of lamps and lanterns widely distributed in the campus with unscientific management, as well as short of awareness of electricity conservation. Therefore, developing new techniques and scientific management to save electricity have reached the state.Based on literatures analysis, the significance of lighting with lighting electricity-saving techniques in universities has been introduced, as well as the methods employed in both at home and abroad. The energy saving strategy has been proposed with an objective after calculating the energy saving potentiality.Taking The Coal Industry Techinician College of Zhengzhou as an example to give more scientific and appropriate strategy, the on-the-spot investigation has been done by which the problem was revealed including that people are short of awareness of electricity conservation, effort from relative departments is not good enough, as well as the lighting electricity-saving techniques has not been well applied, etc. To solve the problems, a number of measures were proposed:1) employing new techniques such as highly efficient light sources and smart control systems. for the representative buildings;2) developing more scientific management including introducing contract method by which fund for the campus lighting energy-saving system modification can be obtained from the company, giving better education in various ways and making more scientific policy contributing quantitative management. The strategy of smart control system of lighting in the university is focused in this thesis.To confirm the feasibility of the method, we modified the1#building in The Coal Industry Techinician College of Zhengzhou by introducing a company with energy-saving energy management contract. According to the contract, highly efficient light source and smart lighting control were employed instead of the original low-efficient lighting source and manual control by which the satisfied lighting has been realized by reducing21%energy consumption The lighting energy-saving strategy is also universal in the other universities which will facilitate energy-saving work in China with good economic, environmental and social effects.
