Definitions And Interpretation On The Architectural Concept Concerning Nationalism Form Of F·L·Wright And Russia In The Past And Present

ABSTRACT:This paper gives an overview of the political background, the meeting content and the reason causing the architectural idea of the First Plenary Session of Union of Architects of Soviet Union held in Moscow in June1937, discusses the reason of inviting the capitalism architect F· L· Wright and the motivation of his attendance, makes analysis on his speech in the session, evaluates his influence on soviet architecture, reveals the truth of that particular historical period and the fact that Soviet Union established the architectural concept concerning socialist content and nationalistic form with the help of Wright, reconsiders the difference and the connection between the concept of USSR and Wright. Inspired by this historical event, reflections the historical significance of the20th century,30-50years Soviet nationalist form, discusses the understandings and critical inheritance of Russia on the architectural concept concerning nationalism of USSR, talks over the evolution and changes of architectural practice for the past twenty years, especially the historic significance of the nationalistic form and the renewed understandings of it in architectural creation.Based on the historical significance of the Soviet nationalism architecture concept, and the lack of the past research. First this paper starts from the First Plenary Session of Union of Architects of Soviet Union, leads to the need for research in this historic event. Second, briefly look back to the background, the content and the reason of Wright participating the Plenary Session. Described the formation of nationalist architecture ideology of Wright, and difference and contact with the Soviet Union. Again aspect of the Soviet Union from the socialist content, interpretation of national forms of architectural theory and representatives of architecture, analyzes the evolution of this theory, explains the reasons and the importance for its formation, revisited the architectural style of Socialist Realism. Finally, discussed the Russia’s new national forms from the level of architecture thinking and practice of the social transformation in1990s. Summed up the development of national forms of architectural creation of the Russian transition period in the regional architecture development under the guidance of a unique national culture, combined with architectural creation, re-interpretation of the concept of national architectural significance of the architectural creation.
