Abstract:With the planning, construction and successive operation of the high-speed railway lines, the railway transport corridor with existing railways and high-speed railways has been gradually accomplished, which could enormously relieve the tension in transport capacity. In the course of railway marketization, it is not only the technical conditions that should be taken into consideration by the railway transport enterprises while developing and improving the passenger transport products, but also the distribution of passenger flow should be given considerable attention to. In this respect, the needs of passengers are met; meanwhile, the competitiveness of the railway transport enterprises in the passenger market is enhanced.Initially, the thesis reviews the common passenger analysis types in the literature; then it makes an analysis of the passenger flow conditions in Wu-Guang railway transport corridor. On the basis of the work mentioned in the previous part, the thesis probes the underlying temporal and spatial distribution rules of passenger flow in Wu-Guang railway transport corridor from the ticket data.With respect to the spatial distribution characteristics of passenger flow, distance-decay law in geonomics is adopted to analyze the characteristics of passenger transport distance distribution in the thesis. Besides traditional spatial distance, a theory of analyzing distance-decay characteristics of passenger flow from the perspective of temporal distance is also proposed in the thesis. Based on the theory, the distance-decay characteristics of passenger flow of Wu-Guang railway transport corridor is depicted and analyzed in this thesis.With respect to the temporal distribution characteristics of passenger flow, an analysis method of classifying passengers by trip duration is proposed, according to which the railway passenger flow is classified into five types, that is type Ⅰ, type Ⅱ and etc. Therewith, the temporal distribution rules of different passenger types in Wu-Guang railway transport corridors is analyzed and concluded in this thesis, and then, the temporal distribution rules of different passenger types is further illustrated from the perspective of passenger travel behaviors.In the end, according to the summarized spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of passenger flow in Wu-Guang railway transport corridors, operational strategy advice for Wu-Guang railway transport corridor is proposed from the perspective of transport organization plan and fare policies for the reference of the relevant departments.
