Nowadays, IEC61850communication standards followed by the substation automationproducts is the key to ensure interoperable products from different manufacturers. Therefore, checking on the consistency of the standards has become to an important part in the productdevelopment process. IEC61850standards is set to solve the interoperability of substationcommunications equipment. However, the emergence of IEC61850standards does not mean thatthe traditional problem of non-uniform semantic information has been resolved completely.Currently, the consistency validation for IEC61850is based on checking the syntax, and thesemantic interoperability problem has not been completely solved. In order to completely solve thesemantic interoperability problem in the consistency validation for IEC61850stadards, and toachieve full interoperability among different substation automation system, a complete semanticinformation model which based on semantic space of IEC61850was constructed in this thesis. Theemergence and development of the Semantic Web ontology technology create the conditions forsolving the problem. The research of the consistency validation for IEC61850information model based onontology has been studied in this paper.Firstly, based on the ides and methods of ontology from semantic web, aiming at the matchingproblem of model in the process of interoperability and the issue of fewer listed test entries in statictesting in IEC61850standards, a validation method for the consistency static testing forinformation model based on ontology is proposed in this paper. Under the guidance of this method, the author built the IEC61850ontology model, organized and described the relative knowledge ofIEC61850in a formalized way by using OWL/RDF ontology description language.Secondly, with the study of semantic retrieval technology and realization method for IEC61850information model based on ontology and with the SPARQL query language offered by Jena, this thesis built the corresponding query model to make a comparison between the standard modeland the corresponding model to be tested.Thirdly, with the study of consistency validation technology and realization method for IEC61850information model based on ontology and with the basis of ontology and combined Jena,SPARQL, Java and other related technologies, this thesis achieve the consistency validationbetween the test model and the standard model based on the ontology semantic information model. Finally, a prototype system of ontology-based consistency validation for IEC61850 information model was designed and implemented. The efficiency and practicality usefulness ofthis system have been verified through the application testing.Modeling of substation knowledge based on ontology can achieve description and transmissionof semantic knowledge effectively in substation automation system. Then combinedsemantic retrieval and other related technology, a model validation prototype system has beendeveloped and implemented, which using B/S system architecture and most popular java EEtechnology. The system achieves consistency validation for the IEC61850standards in thesemantic level. It turns out that the consistency validation for the IEC61850standards based onontology is feasible.
