With the advantage of simpler structure, better mechanical performance, convenient for construction and economical, the application of guyed tower in UHVDC transmission line is widely appreciated by engineering circles.Three kinds of commonly used cable structure form-finding methods, i.e. directiterative method and form-finding analysis method and V-line analysis method, wereanalyzed in this paper. Through finite element analysis and calculation, the V-lineanalysis method was proved to be more accurate for guy cable’s form-finding. On thisbasis, the ANSYS parametric modeling method for guyed tower was given, the APDLcommand stream was wrote, and the finite element model of single-mast guyed towerin±800kV UHVDC transmission line were built, the load on guyed tower wascalculated and applied, through nonlinear finite element calculation the single-mastguyed tower’s mechanical characteristics under different working condition was got, various kinds of structure parameters and load parameters’ influence rule on thetower’s mechanical character was obtained, and the vibration frequency of the towerwas calculated.Result shows that, the V-line analysis method is an accurate method for guycable’s form-finding. Under wind-load state, when initial guy cable prestress is lessthan critical guy cable prestress, with the growth of initial guy cable prestress, nodes’displacement decreases and the slope of leg member’s axial force change is small. When initial guy cable prestress is larger than critical guy cable prestress, with thegrowth of initial guy cable prestress, nodes’ displacement stays and the slope of legmember’s axial force change is great. Under wind-load state, the mast’s nodes’displacement is the superposition of rigid body rotation and bending deformation.Under ice covered state, the mast’s nodes’ displacement is the superposition of rigidbody rotation, bending deformation and torsion deformation.
