Currently,the serious situation, including power plants separating from power grids and electricity pricenot keeping pace with coal price, is great challenge for every power plants. So, decreasing generating cost hasbecome the essential ability of power enterprise for making longer survivorship and accelerating development.As one of most important auxiliaries in power plants, coagulate pump is in state of long-term operation withconstant speed, the throttling control mode leads poor economical efficiency. As a result, in order to decreasingthe power-consumed ratio of auxiliaries, frequency conversion retrofit coagulates pump has become anefficient mean for power enterprises.Jinqiao thermal power plant has two units which include six50%capacity of condensate pump motor.This paper introduces the operation principle of the condensate pump and the cause、transformation plan andachieved results of the high voltage variable frequency transformation for Condensate pump. It makes adetailed analysis of actual operation parameters which we get before and after the modification. Results showthat the energy saving benefit is very significant.
