The condenser is an important part of the steam turbine unit for coal-fired powerunits and its main task is to condense the steam exhauted by tuibine to water andmaintain a certain vacuum degree of the tuibine exhaust port. Its design and operationquality are directly related to the safety and economic operation of industrial production.The deposit of condenser cooling water will lower the condenser vacuum and thecommon solution is to clean with rubber ball. At present, the rubber ball cleaning systemis the most common method that can realize non-stop operation and high efficiency inusing units, compared with manual cleaning and pickling method.In recent years of development, the devices of rubber ball has made muchachievement. The low rate of the pellet retrieval and severe problem of deposit on localcontrol of regional is always the focus of the research. This paper took600MW doubleback pressure condenser unit as the research object the key to solve the low rate of thepellet retrieval and severe problem of deposit on local control of regional.UsingFLUENT software to simulation of the condenser rubber ball device. The simulationrevealed the presence of vortex area of single and double flow inlet chamber of thecondenser which lead to the collect of water in the chamber of rubber ball. The numericalresults show that by adding guide plate, the vortex phenomenon is weakened. After thenumerical simulation of the trajectory of balls in different wet density of the rubber ball,we found that the flow of rubber balls in inlet chamber of the condenser is more uniformand the accumulation is weakened.
