Rotating hyperboloid steel reticulated shell is a new kind of spatial structure. It bears theadvantages of reasonable load, high stiffness, light weight and easy calculation, etc. Not onlyit inherit the basic advantages, but also it have its unique appearance. Stability,is always as avital measure gauge for the safety of reticulated shell. Based on different section size, different supporting condition, different place and quantity of bearings, the static charactersand seismic characters as well as the geometrical and material nonlinear stability of therotating hyperboloid shell steel structure are studied in the thesis.1. A modeling command stream of single-layer (K8) spherical Reticulated shellstructure was compiled with ANSYS parametric design language (APDL). Through thecomparing with Load-displacement curves, we can prove that our parametric design languageis right. Rotating hyperboloid shell steel structure’s model also use the ANSYS parametricdesign language, its results are compared with SAP2000to verify the modeling commandstream.2. Based on the result of its static analysis, rotating hyperboloid shell steel structureanalyzed with eigenvalue buckling analysis, geometrical nonlinear analysis andelastic-plastic analysis. Then, the influence on the static stability influenced by differentsection size, different supporting condition and different materials is discussed to guide thepractical application.3. The seismic behavior of rotating hyperboloid shell steel structure is analyzed by thetime-history analysis method. Under one direction, two dimensional directions as well asthree dimensional directions, periods and frequencies and the response to earthquake ofrotating hyperboloid shell steel structure are studied in this thesis. Finally, some conclusions are drawn and some topics that should be further studied arebrought forward.
