Research On Distribution Characteristic Of Excavation Load On TBM Cutterhead

TBM, short for hard rock tunnel boring machine, is a large tunnel boring equipment which includes function such as excavation, supporting, slaging. As the main tool of TBM for breaking rock, its load characteristics directly impacts on the progress and cost of construction. Based on substantial literature, the mechanical characteristics, load distribution law and excavating load on TBM cutterhead and disc cutter are studied. The main researches of this paper can be summarized as follows:(1) Kinematics and mechanical characteristics of TBM disc cutter during tunneling process is analyzed, and the cutter force prediction model is summarized, and the load calculation model of cutterhead is raised, which provides a theoretical basis for further study on the cutter and cutterhead load distribution.(2) A cutterhead simulation model is established based on cutterhead structure and geological parameters of one project section, the effectiveness of the model is verified via similar experiment. On this basis, the impact of disc cutter layout parameters to force on cutter is researched, and cutterhead load characteristic and distribution law in typical geological conditions is revealed.(3) The impact of rock strength, number of disc cutter, penetration, rotational speed of cutterhead and other key parameters to the cutterhead load characteristics is studied. Subsequently, use of interactive multi-factor orthogonal test method, impact of significant factor during the excavating process has been obtained.(4) Based on mathematical statistics theory, combined with practical excavating load data of cutterhead in one project, statistical analysis of distribution and variation of TBM excavating parameters under different rock conditions is done, which provides guidance for the TBM tunneling construction.
