| The slate is a metamorphic sedimentary, with obvious bedding structure, widelydistributed in the western region of Hunan. Engineering accidents caused by slateinstability and destruction often happens in traffic construction and undergroundconstruction, the impact factor is very complex. Complex geological environment ofrock and soil mass determines the diversity of factors. Structural characteristics,groundwater and rock temperature are the main factors affecting the geotechnicalengineering. Therefore, it has practical importance for practical engineering to dugdeeply enough into the strength characteristics and deformation and failure mode ofslates.This paper studied the changing law of compressive strength of slate and theelastic modulus and Poisson’s ratio and the changing rule of analytical sample loadingprocess medium plate deformation failure mode of rock specimen, and studied thetensile strength of disk and the disk stress distribution under different Angle ofbedding characteristics and distribution of plastic zone characteristics, and studied thedisk failure mode by analyzing the characteristics of the distribution of plastic zone,under different angle of bedding, and got some useful conclusions.(1) The slate uniaxial compression test results under three kinds of workingcondition show: the slate’s compressive strength, elastic modulus, Poisson’s ratio,changes in the present certain regularity with the Angle of bedding and immersiontime and heating temperature.the slate’s compressive strength increase with theincrease of angle of bedding, and Increases with the increase of immersion time anddecrease when the immersion time reaches a certain degree of basic stable. theintensity is decreased obviously when the temperature is greater than200℃.(2) The slate uniaxial compression test results under the condition of differentangle of bedding show: the failure mode of SLATE specimen under uniaxialcompression along with the change of Angle of bedding mainly divided into four.Tensile failure along the bedding surface occurs when0o<θ<15o. Shear failurethroughout the bedding occurs when15o<θ<30o. Shear failure along the bedding planeoccurs when30o<θ<75o. Compressive tensile cracking damage occurs whenθ=90o.(3) The slate Brazil splitting test results shows: Pure cracking destruction occurswhen0o<θ<30o. Shear failure along the bedding plane occurs when45o<θ<75o. Itshows high tensile strength when θ=90o. (4) Brazilian disc under different angle of bedding with numerical simulationresults show that the stress distribution of the disk and the plastic zone distribution inconformity with the failure modes obtained from the indoor test, the tensile strengthof disk law of value and it’s change with angle of bedding is in conformity with thelaboratory test values. |
