Distribution communication network is an important part of distribution automation,Taking effective communication means can sent the dispatchers’ various commands to powerdistribution terminal equipment accurately and correctly, power distribution terminalequipment will also feed the result of the execution and the current parameter back to thedispatcher. Due to the installation location of the distribution network terminal equipmentdistributing throughout the city network with more nodes in the network, wider flipping areaof the network, larger amount of data transferred requirement and more difficult construction,the design and implementation scheme of the power distribution network is critical. EPONhas the primacy with the flexible build, simple operation maintenance, high networkbandwidth, wide flipping network area, high reliability of the network operation andsimplified network model, which is the optimization technology to form the intelligentdistribution network.It introduces several mature ways of data protection of the EPON network and theprinciples of optical power reserve as well as the designing process using the worst valuedesign method. Distribution automation system generally adopts layered structure. It can bedivided into three layers including the main layer, substation and the terminal layer. Thedistribution network automation communication mode of Zhongwei uses the mixture of thetwo layers and three layers model. To the terminal such as column switch, ring networkcabinet, feeder pillar, switching station, dropping insurance, it gives the main focus onrealizing centralized data acquisition and sending to the master station with the method ofdistribution terminal unit.It formed the power monitoring system for communication network of Zhongweielectricity board with EPON system, which combined the present situation of Zhongweidistribution network, laying optical fiber with the existing transmission line and city cableoptical fiber channel. From the perspective of the development of the business requirementsand network maintenance, it installed OLT equipment in the two110kV substations of Binhesubstation and Wenchang substation and used high-density OLT and power special ONU fornetwork construction. In order to satisfy the single point and multi-point failure resistance, ittakes hand in hand chain network structure type as the principal thing and chain networkstructure(double main PON mouth protection way) is complementary, and then put all nodesinto EPON system. Ethernet front-end ports and serial interface of ONU equipment connectwith uplink interface connection of the data acquisition terminal equipment, so as to realizethe data transmission. Combined with GE part of OLT and SDH equipment and sent the datagathered in the terminal node to center master station system of Zhongwei, it can achieve the purpose of four control function of the distribution network automation, the terminal nodereal-time monitoring and the security of the entire distribution network system.In this paper, the design scheme and construction scheme of Zhongwei distributioncommunication network has smooth carried out. It comes into use through the acceptancecheck, which verified again that the EPON technology used in the city of distribution networkis feasible, which meet the demand of power distribution system in many aspects.
