In order to meet the huge capacity of functional requirements, the application of the steel structure of the steel box girder is more popular, as a kind of the superior performance of elastic-plastic material, steel is widely used in long-span bridges. For the pre assembly of large steel box girder, the majority is the use of artificial to participate in the completion of the operation. Two steel bridges will be lifted docking on the working platform using the crane, then personnel drill into the steel box beam, taking two matched large steel box girder assembled together using bolts and nuts, checking whether the results of the pre installed with the correct. If the two large components can be assembled together, with the right, and then remove the pre assembled components and re lifted bridge to the desired location, assemble it with other assembled bridges; or that the two large components to be damaged and unable to use in production or in the process of transportation, need to be processed agian. This is not only a significant amount of labor, but also a waste of time, increase the cost of materials, and reduce the service life of steel box girder.Based on the problems mentioned above, it is more and more important to propose an efficient, fast and convenient virtual assembly identification method. In recent years, many scholars at home and abroad have become more and more concerned with the corresponding image processing algorithms and hardware facilities, and based on the practical engineering, cooperate with the Ji Qi Yellow River bridge construction headquarters, studying on the design of relevant system to improve the detection rate of the steel box girder erection, therefore, this paper puts forward a kind of steel box girder virtual assembly system based on machine vision, and successful application in the key construction project of Shandong Province –the Ji Qi Yellow River highway bridge project. The system uses machine vision technology, that is, using the machine to replace the function of the human eye, scanning flat steel box girder and getting the information from the image and processing, understanding, detection and control. In addition, machine vision technology is widely used in industry, agriculture, medicine, monitoring, security and other fields, and has greatly relieved the human labor force, and improved the level of automation. The system is mainly on the surface of the steel box girder assembly for image acquisition, identification and classification, sub image correction, assembling surface, large image storage and display, assembled error detection, the final results will be assembled in the form of data displayed on the user, convenient user access. Based on machine vision of steel box girder virtual assembly system can take place of the traditional manual pre assembly method, greatly reducing the labor and the use of site space, improving the virtual assembly accuracy and accuracy, needed to meet the engineering accuracy, significantly improve the efficiency, application range widely.
