| Damped infilled wall (DIW) is a new type of energy dissipated wall that the energydissipation mechanism is clear and the energy consumption performance is superior. Not onlythe destruction of framework infiilled with the DIW has been delayed, but also the wall is noteasy to be destroyed, the seismic performance of the infilled wall framework have beenimprove effectively. Understanding the mechanical properties of the damped layer as a keycomponent of DIW is the key and base to the study of DIW. Research of the seismicperformance of damped Infilled Wall Frame (DIWF) with different design parameters is alsoimportant which can provide important data for engineering design of DIW. In this paper, themain research contents and conclusions as follows:(1)Five different damped layers which applied to DIW were designed and thepseudo-static experiments were carried out, and the mechanical properties of damped layerswere studied. The differences of hysteresis energy dissipation capacity, bearing capacity andhorizontal shear deformation ability for damped layers with different types material which areasphalt oil, rubber plate, linoleum, EVA sheet and SBS asphalt coil are revealed.(2)Five kinds of simple frictional damped layer with different mortar which applied toFDIW were designed and the pseudo-static experiments were carried out, and the mechanicalproperties of frictional layers were studied. The shear deformation capacity and hystereticenergy dissipation performance of the frictional damped layer with the asphalt sand, polymerfiber modified mortar and low strength mortar layer is examinated.(3)The performance of SBS asphalt coil damped layer with different influence factorswhich were vertical compressive stress, loading frequency and coil layers, and its fatigueperformance were studied. The results show that:①SBS layer realize viscous sliding dissipation and the performance is stable. The hysteretic curves are plumper and symmetrical, and the energy dissipation performance are great.②The change of the vertical compressivestress has great influence on the mechanical properties of SBS layer. With increasing thevertical compressive stress, the early shear stiffness, the hysteretic energy and equivalentviscous damping coefficient of SBS layer increase significantly.③The performance of SBSlayer is correlated with loading speed, when the loading frequency increase, the energy andequivalent viscous damping coefficient not the equivalent shear stiffness of SBS layerincreases obviously.④The change of coil layers has a certain influence on the performance ofSBS layer. the increasing of material layer would cause the equivalent shear stiffness andenergy consumption decrease, but the equivalent viscous damping coefficient increase.⑤Under many cyclic loadings, the equivalent stiffness and hysteretic energy not theequivalent viscous damping coefficient of SBS layer have varying degrees of attenuation. After fatigue test, SBS layer still have a good fatigue resistance performance that thehysteresis loop and energy performance is great.⑥With Kelvin mechanical model cansimulate the mechanical behavior of SBS asphalt damped layer.(4)After verify the validity of the numerical analysis, the seismic performance of DIWFwith different design parameters were study, which is the elastic storage shear modulus anddamped layer thickness, damped loss factor, the strength of masonry, the elastic modulus offlexible filler and gap width between masonry unit and frame column, the axial compressionand across the high ratio of framework. The results show that: The different designparameters have different degrees of influence on the seismic performance of DIWF, Theparameters should be designed reasonably. Suggesting that the storage shear modulus ofdamped layer should not be greater than0.3MPa, and the thickness should be controlledrange from5mm to15mm, the greater loss factor of material should be choosed whendesign the damped layer. The elastic modulus of flexible filler material between masonry unitand the frame column should not be greater than10MPa and the gap width can be set up to20mm. |
