At present, the total installed capacity of hydropower of China has become the first in theworld. We have accumulated a wealth of experience in the construction and operation of thewater conservancy project design, and its safety monitoring system. However some dams onthe river basin in China, the impact of the dam external deformation monitoring is still notbeen seriously, especially the medium-sized water conservancy projects. The purpose of damsafety monitoring is dam character analysis and deformation prediction, but for accurateforecast and analyses, it needs to have an advanced and reliable external deformationmeasurement system and a set of effective data processing method.In this paper, on the basis of periodic on-site inspection and analyses of monitoring data,the entire dam external deformation monitoring methods were systematically expounded,systematic implementation method of concrete gravity dam deformation data processing isproposed, provide a more reliable source of data in order to carry out the project deformationmonitoring data analysis and forecasting. The main findings and conclusions are as follows:(1)Introduced the current vertical and horizontal displacement monitoring systemdisplacement monitoring system which have been applied in the major projects, details thepros and cons of various methods,the accuracy and surveying cycle in different monitoringprojects.(2) The improving data jump method proposed in this paper is applied in practicalengineering. Use it to identify outliers’ detection data, not only the accuracy of theidentification of outliers is getted promoted, but also to ensure the time properties ofmeasurement data is not lost. The Matlab programming is simple, strong computing power,the output characteristics of a high degree of visualization applied to the monitoring data inthe process of identifying outliers, provides a more accurate and efficient method for themonitoring data to identify outliers.(3)In terms of deformation monitoring networks, for different practical application ofengineering, use Matlab to program the rank defect free network adjustment and quasi-stableadjustment program of vertical displacement monitoring. Quasi-stable adjustment programwhich can not only complete the adjustment process, but also select the quasi-stable pointseffectively. It is very practical and convenient. (4)This article proposed using Matlab to polynomial or interpolation after the data grosserrors were removed. For a short sequence of data, the requirement can be achieved by linearinterpolation. Power of polynomial fitting should not be too high.(5)Wavelet de-noising of data sequence can be easily realized in wavelet function ofMatlab toolbox. Haar and db3wavelet basis are more appropriate in monitoring work.According to the different amount of information to be retained in the original decompositionto select different layers and de-noising function when choosing wavelet function.(6) In this paper, the implementation process and data processing of a dam deformationmonitoring were elaborated holistic, use improved data jump method to exclude gross errors,compare and analyze the results of Interpolation fitting which used a variety of methods,conduct adjustment in engineering control network. This paper not only makes intuitivemethod described above has been applied, and provides a reference for deformationmonitoring of water conservancy projects in the future.
