In order to study the seismic performance and dynamic property of brick structureresidential building with recycled bricks,which are made from building wastes,the scalemodel is established in the laboratory of our school. The model belongs to brickstructure with two bay and weak framework,which is consisted of structurecolumn,periphery beam and cast-in-place slab.The wall is made of recycled bricks.Different magnitude of EL-Centro earthquake waves and artificial seismic waves areimposed to the model through the shaking table to simulate the shaking table test of theearthquake. The experiment has important significance in the seismic performance ofbrick structure residential building with recycled bricks.At first,the present paper recommends background of the study and researchsignificance of brick structure with recycled bricks. let us understand the researchprogress and application of recycled bricks;and then understand the loading features,seismic hazard and structural aseismic measures as well as this development aboutstudy theory about brick structure. Then introduce the related knowledge of the modeltest.It is used for setting up the scale test model as knowledge reserve.secondly, a series of shaking table tests for brick-concrete1/3scale model houseswith recycled bricks are carried out in order to simulate the earthquake with EL-Centroand artificial waves as earthquake waves under basic and rare earthquake intensity about7,8,and9degrees earthquake zones.The damage mechanism and experimentalphenomena about the house structure is observed and recorded. The acceleration isobtained by acceleration sensor. The largest displacement about the measuring point andtime history curves of displacement were got. The largest displacement about themeasuring point and time history curves of displacement and so on the correspondingdata are compared accordingly when the model structure is input respectively in turnwith EL-Centro earthquake waves and artificial seismic waves.In the end, results of the trial indicates that solid renewable brick as bearing wallmaterial used for brick structure is feasible,and according to the seismic design codecarry out seismic design to the test structure, the fortification request of the brickstructure was satisfied and it does not collapse during the great earthquake and it doesnot destroy during a small earthquake and it can be repaired during a moderateearthquake. The model structure has a great ability to resist earthquake on the whole. The weak framework system is made up of top-beam and tie column and increasestiffness of model on the whole.In addition,according to the test results,propose therelated suggestion and install horizontal bar to load-bearing wall and decreasebrittleness and improve the toughness.increase the seismic behavior of masonrystructure. The research results can provide the related evidences and references forseismic design of this kind of structure.
