Research On Roof Greening Landscape Design Of Urban Old Buildings In Xi’an

Recently, the expansion of urban land accompany with increasing numbers of urbanizedarchitectures each year, various type of row upon row of buildings arise in the city area.Overlooking the city from the air, the fifth fa ade of the city has been occupied by hugeamount of gray roofs, it not only affect the urban aesthetics， but also a waste of a valuablepiece. Under the environment of "To build the garden city, sustainable urban development"and other related theories, green roofs which could possible settle the land of the lostbuildings, development up to now, has become a widely respected way of greening. However,nowadays, our country involved little policy on the unimplemented green roof projects, theseunimplemented buildings owned such large amount useable roof area. If all these roofs couldbe achieved green, the urban heat island effect will be alleviate effectively, furthermore, theincreased green land also lead urban environment development more healthy.Based on the above situation, this article through to research of xi "an old building roofgreening landscape design, summed up the following contents:1/In this article, the definition of old building will be given at first, then, the research ofgreen roofs will be focus on the prospects of origin, development, categories andeffectiveness in order to analyze the green roofs in domestic are still in the architecturedesigning position;2/By xi ’an city landscape characteristics and the existing old buildings of roof greening,roof type, the distribution of plants, landscape style in five aspects, such as analysis of thestatus quo, summed up the xi ’an roof greening construction quantity, low quality, less singlelandscape elements, the problem of the small maintenance costs of the late and analyzes onthe causes of the problem; On this basis, the roof greening form suited to the characteristicsof the xi ’an old buildings is put forward and design principles;3/From the relevant theory, the green roof design principles, planting design, landscapeelements of design, maintenance and management five aspects of the roof greening of oldbuildings, old buildings built of implementation of roof greening, the Xi’an city that oldbuilding should be based on the systematic design idea in principle, and using native plants tocreate a local landscape features the roof space.4/Last but not least, this paper is the explanation of green roofs actual apply, which willbe achieve though the case of ‘green roofs of Bureau of Parks and Woods’s office in XinCheng District，Xi`an.Although current technology able to build green plants on old architectures, there arestill problems on design prospect. Through this content, this paper is a systematic study onthe implementation of green roofs on old buildings. At the end of the paper, the writer willgive some personal recommendation on building green roofs such as suitable categories, plantlandscaping design, landscape design and other aspects in order to making some theoreticalcontribution to Xi’an‘s comprehensive development.
