Electrification port is an important transport hub, and its reliability, stability andeconomy of power system operation plays a vital role in the safety of regional power gridand efficiency of the port. However, due to the characteristics like nonlinear, impact,asymmetry of the ports power load, the power system has some power quality problemssuch as harmonics pollution, voltage fluctuation, flicker and negative sequence current,which reduce the power quality of traction power supply system and the higher powersystem, and influence the safety and economic operation of power system..Based on the Qin Huangdao port dumper power system,this article analyzes the mainindicators that influence power quality and studies factors that affect the power quality inpower system. Firstly, this article studies several kinds of power quality controltechnology and strategy. Scondly reactive power compensation scheme is put out toreduce affect caused by impact load. Then establish database to record voltage, current,frequency, power factor that can reflect power quality. At last complete the hardwareselection, software design of the system, combined with the proposed plan of reactivepower compensation and active governance of power quality.Finally, considering the safety margin, treatment scheme on power quality was usedin Qin Port dumper power system, and shows changes of harmonic current etc comparedwith the old power quality. Actual operation proves that the scheme can effectivelyeliminate the radiation of the motor,capacitor damage, PLC communication module fault,transformer overheating, that was caused by harmonic. This system use the PQM onlinedetection equipment to dynamically integrate the monitoring and warning equipments ofthe power quality in the whole distribution system.Which improve the security of powersupply security and the reliable operation of the security equipment, reduce the networkenergy consumption, improve the efficiency of transformer, and bring significanteconomic benefits to enterprises.
