With constantly improving of the energy level in solid propellant and the increasing ofmixer’s volume, the contradiction between mixing effect and mixing efficiency in traditionalprocess is highlighted. Continuous mixing process can avoid this contradiction. Select theappropriate liquid component feeding device is the key to realizing continuous mixing. Withthe advantage of low shearing action and high precision transmission, peristaltic pumpbecame a choice of the feeding device. The principle of the peristaltic pump was analyzed. A analysis of peristaltic pump flowcharacteristics was given in which established a flow model and using the Navier-Stokesequations to derive. This paper designed a test system based on the high-flow peristaltic pump usingcomputer measurement and control technologies. Designing test system includes bothhardware and software. For hardware, platinum resistance temperature sensor and FlexiForcepressure sensor were used to build the temperature and pressure acquisition scheme. Solvedthe problem which has difficult with measure the pressure within the pump head. For software, the LS-BUSASCⅡ communication protocol was analyzed for writing the control program inLabview with beautiful interface and easy to use, This paper also designed the temperatureand pressure measurement sub-VI for collecting and processing signals. A rotation counterbased on the output signal of FlexiForce pressure sensor was presented for automaticallycontrol the pump.Tests on a large-flow peristaltic pump have been conducted. Key part temperature underdifferent conditions and pressure state of pump tube were obtained. The impacts of rotationspeed and tubing size on flow rate were tested which may provide a reference for developingparameters on liquid component feeding device.
