In the dissertation, a rotary-type digital valve which has two spools was designed,and its characteristics were analyzed. The spool of the valve was controlled directlyby stepper motor, where eccentric gear and lead screw were not necessary. The valveregulates the flow rate and pressure by controlling the two spools rotate relatively.There was no eccentric gear and lead screw, therefore, the structure of the valve wassimplified, and the unknown factors in control caused by attrition can be eliminated,which will make the control more accurately and make the manufacture easier. It iseasy to form negative feedback by the relative rotating of the two spools, which canimprove control accuracy. The main research contents and results of the dissertationare shown below:(1) Based on the analysis on the domestic and overseas digital valves, a newrotary-type digital valve was put forward which has two spools respectivelycontrolled by two stepper motors. Then the structure and working principle of thevalve were introduced.(2) Based on status quo of the digital valve research and the hydraulictransmission theory, mathematical model of the valve was established. Then dynamicand static control characteristics were analyzed, which will provide reference on thestructure parameter design of the valve.(3) Based on the working principle of the valve and the hydraulic theory,mathematical model of the hydraulic cylinder system controlled by the valve wasestablished. Then the control characteristics of the valve and the system wereanalyzed.(4) Based on the analysis above, the structure parameters and the processingtechnology of the valve can be determined. Then the hydraulic system for experimentcan be set up. The previous theory analysis on the valve will be verified, as well as thepractical applicability of the valve.
