Typically, traditional power electronic devices connect power grid throughrectifier, however, with industrial development and the enhancement of socialstandards, traditional rectifier faces multiple challenges in many aspects as high levelof input current harmonic, low level of input power factor and voltage transfer ratio.Matrix rectifier derives from three-phase matrix converter with advantages likeadjustable input power factor, better sinusoidal waveform and bidirectional flow ofenergy, all these advantages have exerted a great influence in DC field and thusattracting extensive attention worldwide.The Mathematical and physical basis of the matrix converter is introduced in thearticle first, then the switching function algorithm and double space vector algorithm,by which the relevant algorithms of the matrix converter are inferred. This article hasanalyzed space vector algorithm and conducted current vector overmodulation for thesystem, and then concluded the ties between current overmodulation and outputvoltage: to enhance modulation index of the matrix converter above overmodulationfield can produce higher output voltage than those use traditional modulation methods.Besides, the two-step commutation and four-step commutation methods for theswitching tubes in the matrix converter are also analyzed. According to switchingfunction algorithm, the harmonic characteristic of input current is concluded: theamplitude of high frequency harmonic is inversely proportional to induction. Then thebasic ideas of parameter design of the input filter are approached on the basis of itscharacter and that of the system.After that, the simulation model of the system is built on Simulink platform, thesimulation results conform with expectation and therefore proving the reliability of theabove-mentioned algorithms.Finally, both the hardware circuit and the flow chart of software was provided,which laid a foundation for the next experimental research.
