The problems like traffic jams and traffic accidents are more and more serious, which are caused by the contradiction between the traffic demand and the trafficsupply. Therefore we are facing the limit of the development of the on-ground trafficin urban. An effective solution is to build underground road. But the underground roadis very different from the on-ground road, such as, the space of the underground roadis closed, the landscape is monotonous, the ventilation is poor, and vehicles can onlyenter or exit in the fixed entrance or export, with the limit of the vertical andhorizontal width compared with the on-ground rod conditions. In addition, there is nonature lighting, the visual recognition becomes worse, especially the visual cognitionof the traffic signs.Firstly, article compared the driving environment on the on-ground road and onthe underground road, the section with or without traffic signs were also two levels ofthe traffic sign factor. Then orthogonal design was proceed based on the two factorsabove. Data was collected by the methods of simulation driving experiment andquestionnaire survey. Based on the data, the method of multi-factor analysis ofvariance was adopted and at the same time, driving performance was selected as thedependent variable, to analyse the factors effecting driving safety. The resultsindicated that in the section of the underground road with traffic signs driversperformance was worst in the four driving situations.Secondly, based on the results above, we focused on the section of theunderground road with traffic signs, furthermore, to research the key factors effectingdrivers visual recognition. And build the Impact Factor Analysis Model by the methodof Logistic Regression. Finally, we made a conclusion and gave some corresponding suggestions forrelative departments. The last but not least, the defects were also listed at the end ofthe article, and the research plan in the next step was proposed.
