Urban distribution network is an important part of the power system. It is the main load center with a large amount of electricity, high load density, high power supply quality requirements. Various construction and renovation projects of urban distribution network must cooperates with the development planning of the city and must also coordinates with the environment. However, the construction of the urban distribution can’t meet the needs of social and economic development currently. The reason is that the pace of urbanization is fast and the development of urban distribution network is slow. Mainly in obsolete equipment, inadequate power supply capacity, irrational structure, poor reliability, low power quality. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out rational planning of urban distribution network, in order to meet the development needs of the load and ensure economic operation of the power grid.Ruyuan county,Guangdong province of china,is a modern urban with Yao style characteristics and focuses on developing new processing industry, tourism and commerce,Its transportation is very convenient, commerce and the tertiary industry of Ruyuan county is also very developed. Along with rapid economic development and fast urbanization of Ruyuan County, the rational planning of distribution network is imminent.Firstly, the paper analysises the current situation of the distribution network of Ruyuan county and summarizes the problems of the distribution network palnning. Then the paper predicts the power load of the distribution network by reasonable load forecasting method. On this basis, the paper carries out specific10kV distribution network planning and summarizes the construction scale of the distribution network. At last, the paper makes out estimated budget of the distribution network.
