Compared with large shopping malls, workshop and home airconditioners, due to the different heat transfer, the outdoor unit heatexchange axial fan for small office configuration should be designedspecially. This type of heat exchanger fan air flow requirement is between5300~6600m3/h, and usually placed at the outdoor place distant away fromwork、living area. Flow and total pressure are highly emphasized asimportant criterions. For an enterprise performance requirements for axial fan, detailperformance research were carried out three of the product. The outlet flowof outdoor unit products were tested using three-hole probe, and thusmodification was carried out on the wind tunnel test experiment to getdimensionless performance data at different speed. Meanwhile, velocitydistribution before and after the fan was tested and compared with theoutdoor unit data. To further study the flow inside the channel, a UG modelwas established for the numerical simulation. Different lengths of inlet andoutlet were analyzed to get a proper flow field for the internal fan flowanalysis. The comparison of numerical and experimental data show thereliability of the numerical results and found that the fan blade tip separatevortex has a great influence on the fan performance and calculation results.A direct impact was found between the tip clearance and the tip separatevortex. And the overall performance was effected by tip clearance. In order to enhance the effect of heat exchange, the blade angle was5degrees increased. Both the numerical and the experimental tests showthat the new fan performance has been improved.
