This paper mainly studies on the HVAC system with Active ChilledBeams of Dynamic Systems Laboratory, Department of Automation,Shanghai Jiaotong University.First we introduce the working principle of system, and expound thatwe are focused on the chilled water circle.The second part is focused on modelling of this system. This processaims at chilled water cycle and the process is divided into two parts. Oneis modelling of Active Chilled Beams. In this part, we analysis thestructure of Active Chilled Beams based on the theory of fluid mechanicsand the theory of turbulent jet, and then the mathematic relationshipbetween pressure and air flow is derived. According to the empiricalformula of entrainment ratio, we get the mathematic model ofpressure-entrainment flow. Then the unknown parameters of this model areidentified by using the data form CFD simulation software. Then we selectother working points of working space, and use these points to prove theeffective of the model. Finally we get the model of Active Chilled Beamsby combining the model of entrainment and the model of coil of ActiveChilled Beams. The other is modelling of Air Handling Unit. First weanalysis the fin surface coolers of Air Handling Unit, and then the model offin surface coolers is derived based on the existing paper. Then weimprove the model based on fin efficiency and seat transfer coefficient.Also we identify the unknown parameters of the model by using the dataform ACB experimental system, and prove the effective of the model inthe ACB experimental system. Second, we build the regressionrelationships by using the dataof ACB experimental system. Finally we get the model of Air Handling Unit by combining the two model.The last part of this paper is focused on setting up the monitoringinterface of this system, and also on programming of start and stop logic.
