Independent suspension and steering system of automobile is a multi-body system, which has spatial structure, and the motion relationship among the parts is very complicated,so it brings many difficulties to compute the various characteristics with traditionalcomputation methods, and to achieve the ideal optimism effect is much more difficult. Moreover, influence of space angle was ignored in traditional method, which made theanalysis results far away from the practical situation. But using the theory of multi-bodysystem can avoid all the above problems.Based on Kane method, regard the MacPherson suspension and steering system as anintegrated system, its multi-body dynamic model and array of lower serial number objectswas established. Kinematical equations and constraint equations of system were set up.Based on Ackerman theorem, take total steering error as the objective function, optimization model of MacPherson suspension and steering mechanism was founded. Inorder to obtain rational error distribution and the best optimization effete, a3D continuousweight function composed of probability curves were established, Optimization programwas compiled by calling Matlab GAtoolbox.Take one real vehicle type of TJ7136U as an example, kinematics analysis andoptimization design of McPherson suspension steering system was done in this paper.According to the results, various characteristics are much better after optimization design. At last, a motion simulation was by ADAMS/Car, which proved the accuracy of usingKane method and the rightness of programs compiled in this paper.
