With the continuous development of auto industry,the Vehicle handling and stability performance of vehicle has become a very important performance metrics.The design of the suspension is the key to the performance of the vehicle,which plays an important role in handling stability,ride comfort and safety.The paper analysis the structural of the McPherson suspension and Introduces the basic theory of multibody system,establish a simplified model of McPherson suspension in the module of ADMAS/Car.To improve the vehicle steering stability,riding comfort and safety in the process of driving,and do the kinematics simulation of suspension in the excitation of parallel wheel travel and opposite wheel travel firstly.And then,with the analysis of ADAMS post-processing we found that toe angle,camber Angle and wheelbase is not in a reasonable range and not meet the requirements about the design of suspension system.Lastly,taking the wheel alignment parameters as the objective function,we use the function of ADAMS/Insight to modify the coordinate of hard point that is associated with Various wheel alignment parameters.By comparing the results before and after,we get a reasonable suspension system model.Based on the model of ADAMS,the paper achieved the goal that simulation analysis of the performance of suspension.The optimized results are improved greatly,and satisfies the basic demands of suspension design.More importantly,to improve vehicle handling stability,riding comfort and safety,etc.This method has very important significance,it can shorten design cycle and improve product quality in the development stages.
