This paper applies the method of performance-based fire protection design to largepublic building renovation, specification and the successful experience of performancedesign for reference, for large public building renovation project, carries on thereasonable reference, and then study the large-scale public building renovation projectperformance based fire protection design method.Based on the analysis of large public building fire design difficulty, before and afterthe transformation problems, solution analysis, safety evaluation and other aspects ofperformance based fire protection design in retrofit applications. The basis of relatedresearch at home and abroad, for large public buildings people load and fire load, afterthe transformation of smoke exhaust mode selection, design of fire separation method,the atrium as the evacuation channels and so on.The design method of the exhaust system in large public buildings as the object ofstudy. The parameter analysis method, the setting of the fire scene, to study spread andflue gas in the atrium cross Gallery in the settlement of the situation. According to theresearch results, the design requirement of wind up mechanical and natural ventilation inatrium smoke exhaust system in large public buildings in the area.In the large public buildings as the performance based design method of evacuationsafety area as the research object. Through the investigation, theoretical analysis,numerical simulation methods, separation measures, ensure the fire safety evacuation ofthe proposed the transformation of large public building automatic fire extinguishingsystem, exhaust system, after the evacuation facilities.
