Xi’an is the capital of Shanxi Province, with substantial depth westerndevelopment, Xi’an economic growth for nine consecutive years to maintain a speed ofmore than13%and the overall strength significantly enhanced the rapid developmentof urban space is constantly expanding. The expansion of this urban space has broughtchanges in urban spatial structure, contributed to the industrial restructuring of theeconomy, such as the city has also spawned a difficult coordination capacity and nature,urban space expansion direction is unknown, the extensive spread of urban problems.So, faced with this complex giant system city, urban growth simulation and predictionresearch is increasingly becoming a hot city.This study based on1995,2000,2002,2011years, Xi’an, remote sensing images,combined with DEM digital elevation map of Xi’an, wheel master plan and varioussocio-economic statistics, and built the city of Xi’an1995-2011spatial and attributedatabase as a basis for the analysis, development of Xi’an urban space simulation andprediction. Thesis involved include:(1)Growth of related theoretical studies of urban spaceGrowth of urban space to summarize the research literature at home and abroad;and studied the theoretical basis of the growth of urban space, including urban spatialstructure evolution theory, urban spatial structure evolution of general characteristics,external morphology model, the spatial structure of the expansion mode; fullyunderstand the understanding of geography simulation System (GIS) applications inurban space growth model; concepts and cellular automata (CA) models, principlesand different types of CA model comparison; Finally, the principle of SLEUTH model,the implementation process, the application of dynamic models and make an important role in the analysis.(2) An increase of Xi’an urban spac e dynamic simulationFirstly overview of Xi’an urban development, and evolution of the process ofurban spatial structure; thus collect and collate basic data, create and debug runtimeenvironment model, model calibration input data set; final application model tosimulate the city of Xi’an in1995-2011urban growth process.(3) On the basis of the spatial pattern of the city of Xi’an, set different predictionscenarios; Xi’an city urban space and multi-growth scenario forecasts; through researchand behavioral characteristics of index coefficients under different scenarios toquantify the spatial expansion process in Xi’an city, Year of simulation results basedon the historical city of Xi’an space growth boundary, and the growth boundaryoptimization.(4) The growth dynamic mechanism of Xi’an city space research anddevelopment suggestionsThrough the analysis of the indicators in the model simulation and forecastingprocess, interpretation of Xi’an urban space simulation and forecasting process;2011years ago by the Xi’an city urban growth simulation results with the calendar yearcompared to the overall urban planning, objective evaluation of the implementationeffect of the overall planning, analysis of urban space planning role in guiding thegrowth and urban expansion forecast model used to evaluate the program, and tocomplete its master plan overlay, and optimize the urban growth boundary, and givescountermeasures and suggestions of Xi’an urban space growth.This study attempts ingot machine with automatic temporal dynamics simulationtechniques to predict future urban growth boundary in Xi’an, Xi’an visualizationprocess to provide future urban growth and to further validate the universality ofSLEUTH model, through the analysis of various parameters, as well as analog andpredicted results were compared with the overall planning of the calendar year, thecorresponding planning proposals, the method has a certain value innovation andpractical application.
