Study On The Architectural Form Of YASHU Buildings During The Yuan Dynasty

The Yashu building(the ancient office building of government in China),the legalplace where executives of feudal society exercise powers, is a national symbol of Chinaancient regime, is an important component of the city, is embodiment of China’s ancientceremonial system. The setting of Yashu according to administrative division into districts,the ancient Yashu setting has some difference because of the change of administrativedivision into districts，but we can divide it into two categories: central government andlocal government. Yashu building, is the material bearing body of government function,is also the spirit bearing body of government which reflects the Chinese traditional culture.With the changes of history, Yashu building remains less in number, but the existingYashu buildings are concentrated in Ming and Qing Dynasties,have no example in SongDynasty and before, highlighting the necessity and urgency of the further research onYashu in Yuan Dynasty. The Yashu building is influenced by the architectural form ofYuan Dynasty,the etiquette culture and regional culture, will reflect integratedcharacteristics.In this paper, makes the existing Yashu buildings:Huozhou lobby andJiangzhou lobby as main object. we will focuse on the building function of Yashu in YuanDynasty, building scale and style, building structure, arts of building decorative andhumanities to systematically study and research, analyses the construction featuresembodied in the two Yashu buildings. Huozhou lobby and Jiangzhou lobby,as the stategovernment office lobby, are currently found in the earliest Yashu building examples, theyreflect the significant common characteristics of times, regional and office building types. A systematic research on this type of buildings, all has the vital significance from bothhistorical and practical.
