Support institutions is the key Substructure to the TBM continual tunneling.In theprocess of TBM in advancing,support system jamming the surrounding rock,provide forcefor the cutter head and the required torque.The boots is the key components of Supportinstitutions,thus,it has important significance on analysis boots and the surrounding rock.Ifsupport mechanism design is not reasonable,cause lots of problems,such as weight imbalance,Hang boots instability.Around these problems,Mainly has carried out the following researchwork:The mechanics of the main girder type of TBM boots was deduced, hang boots mainlyunder support, propulsion and the contact stress of surrounding rock. Supports on both sidesof the horizontal boots are regarded as symmetrical boots, the unilateral solution on supportfor its hold on the boots.Propulsion mainly determined by its main excavating resistance, eachsolution formulas of resistance was list and finally propulsion was obtained. Hang boots androunding rock were analyzed by Contact theory. First understanding the type and mechanicalcharacteristics of surrounding rock, and then according to the stress-strain formula and thecontact characteristics of hang boots and surrounding rock,writting its contact stress formula.The form of hold boots contact with the surrounding rock was defined.By using finiteelement method,the contact of hold boots and the surrounding rock is analysised.It is toanalysis the contact of hold boots and the surrounding by selecting the principle and methodwhich is in accordance with the characteristics of the contact.Introduce the main steps whichis based on ABAQUS of support boot and rounding rocks, the chose of interarea and secondarea, contact properties and algorithm, grid and load settings. And then set the numericalsimulation for the contact of support boot and rounding rocks. Calculate the stressnephograms of rounding rocks and the rules of mechanical properties from the nephograms.Then use the MATLAB to figure out the mechanical properties of three dimensional andcontour map. In the map, we can get the range of value, even the maximum value.According to the working condition of TBM and kinematical analysis,obtaining theactual loading model of the boots. The numerical simulation of total contact betweensupportingboots and surrounding rock is calculated by applying ABAQUS, and its analysisresult including the contact pressure,the comprehensive stress,the distribution diagram ofdisplacement deformation,and the larger contact pressure and deformation on both andfringesides of the supporting boots’ groove is handled by MATLAB. Changed the type ofsurrounding rock and contact area with shield boots. Then do numerical simulation to boots and the surrounding rock. Came to the conclusion that incomplete contact are more likely tocause the deformation, broken and collapsed of surrounding rock, soft rock damaged moreeasily than hard rock after analyzing the results.
