With the development of society, the progress of science and technology, thepursuit for the comfort of life is higher and higher. Air conditioning has beengenerally used in places of all kinds of social activities. Air conditioning iswildly used in Residential, office buildings, public transport systems. Energyconsumption of air conditioning grows also rapidly, which has become animportant part of social energy consumption.Nowadays most of the new buildings are quite large office buildings. Theyshare a common characteristic that the inner area of the building needs coolingalso in the winter. In this paper, the most suitable air conditioning system will bechosen for the office building which has inner zone, and the outdoor natural coldsource will be rationally used.Kehui Building as the research object which has inner waste heat in winter,located in Shanghai Chaohejing area. The annual load is calculated through thesoftware eQUEST. Through the simulation of the load of thebuilding, here is theresult: The total cooling load of air conditioning is3450kW summer, and thetotal heating load is1950kW in winter. This means, the peak load in summer islarger than the peak load in winter. Therefore, the air conditioning system isdesigned mainly according to the cooling load in summer. In addition theinnerzone of the building need cooling throughout the year, because the heat loadmainly concentrate in the outer zone.Two air conditioning plans are made for the Kehui Building according to thebuilding load characteristic. One is the traditional fan coil plus fresh air system,the other is the VAV system. Through analysis two plans will solve the problemof waste heat in the inner zone of Kehui Building in winter: Cooling by fresh airor cooling by cooling tower. On the basis of load calculation, through theselection of equipments and the analysis and calculation of the annual energyconsumption, here comes the conclusion: In the standard layer of Kehui Building annual electricity consumption is5%less by using VAV system.Also the annual natural gas consumption is4.6%less by using VAV system.Therefore, for the office building which has waste heat in the inner zone in winter,VAV system saves more energy than the traditional fan coil plus fresh air system.According to the analyses result of energy consumption of Kehui Building,the power consumption is mainly divided into three parts: the energyconsumption from chilled water unit, the energy consumption of air conditioningand water system. The ratio is45%,35%and20%. Therefore, in designing andoperating of these parts energy saving measures should be paid attention to.The above research provides a method and basis for the energy saving airconditioning system of the office buildings in Shanghai which has waste heat inthe innerzone.
