Research On Intelligent Molded Case Circuit Breaker Based On Embedded ARM

With the rapid development of modern society, the size and complexity of theelectric power system is increasing, the level of electrical intelligence becomes muchhigher. The protection functions of low voltage circuit breaker towards electric powersystem and electrical equipment get more and more important. The intelligent circuitbreaker with high stability and instantaneity could better protect the electric powersystem and equipment. Thus the research of low-voltage intelligent circuit breaker hassignificant prospect of engineering application and academic value.In this paper, The intelligent molded case circuit breaker is based on ARM CPUS3C2440, use the real-time multitasking embedded Linux system as software platform,The circuit breaker designed has the functions of three-section current protection,ground fault protection, under voltage protection, LCD display and parameter setting.For the hardware design, processor S3C2440is chosen as the central controller.The hardware system also includes external storage module, data sampling module,power supply module, LCD display module, tripping execution module and alarmindicator module.For the software design, the embedded developing platform is based on theembedded Linux operating system. The transplantations of Bootloader, Linux kerneland root file system are completed. The software design also includes the application ofdata sampling and several protection functions. In order to increase the display result ofLCD, the GUI based on QT Creator has been developed.This design makes full use of the high-performance ARM CPU and real-timemultitasking embedded Linux operating system, meets the requirements of highreliability and instantaneity, and provides large space to intelligent molded case circuitbreaker for upgrading.
