With the rapid development of economic construction in our country, the city continues to expand, so that traffic is also growing and the urban construction land is very expensive. Therefore, the curved single pedestal pier bridges has gained more and more designers pro-gaze, and been widely used in the construction of urban bridges with its smooth lines, beautiful shape, small occupied area, low cost and so on many kinds of advantages. Accidents of the curved single pedestal pier bridges occur frequently due to lack of knowledge on the curved single pedestal pier bridgesthe with unique force performance. Therefore, it is very important and urgent to research the overturning of such bridges and reinforcement design.This thesis is based on the engineering example of a bridge in Hebei Province,for the curved single pedestal pier bridges of the force curve characteristics, reinforcement design principles and methods were studied and analyzed.This paper mainly research contents and the main achievements are as follows:1、Information on the curved single pedestal pier bridges of the force curve characteristics and calculation methods.2、Bridge reinforcement technology commonly expounded the general principles and strengthening methods. It provides a theoretical basis for the curved single pedestal pier bridges reinforcement calculations.3、According to the theory of single column pier curve girder bridge calculation and numerical calculation method, I analysised the Bridge mode, cycle bridge formation, bearing reaction force, resistance to capsizing by using MIDAS/Civil finite element analysis software. At the same time the cause of transverse overturning is the torsional rigidity of the little stiffness.4、The steel structure reinforcement calculation theory and method is Introduced. According to the bridge of condition which is structure system and stress, choosing the appropriate reinforcement scheme to be innovative, and a reinforcement calculation was carried out.5、Calculating the Reinforcement,the bearing of reactions, modal, cycle formation and transverse overturning resistance which are the bridge before and after reinforcement were analyzed. It can be seen through reinforcement, bridge rigidity was increased after reinforcement, and bridge transverse overturning resistance ability had been improved significantly. It shows that structure is more secure.
