Research On Safety In Industrial Product Design

In primitive society, in order to promote the development of production andagainst outside attacks, human beings began to use wood, stone and other materials tomake production tools and defense equipment. The generation and usage of theseinstruments can be seen as the power of design to make up for human skills and theextension of their body. Along with the progress of production technology, the metalmaterials such as iron and copper gradually been applied to the manufacture of tools,which had further promoted the development of production and the improvement ofproductive forces. The emergence of new phrases like “Ju An Si Wei”,“Fang Wei DuJian” had shown the people’s simple and intuitive awareness for “safety”. By the18thcentury, especially under the impetus of the industrial revolution, human society hadexperienced the transition from agricultural society to industrial society, and the modeof production had shifted from handicraft to mass production, which enrichedpeople’s material life. At the same time, people’s attention to “safety” had raised to arational perspective, a new level.Nowadays,”Security issues” have already become huge obstacles that hinder thedevelopment of society and the improvement of our life quality. To some extent, theseissues can also damage people’s spiritual minds. However, the negative results shouldnot have produced in the process of improving the level of production and design. Onthe contrary, we should avoid disasters through reasonable and advanced design. Inthis essay, I will firstly analyze and discuss the security theory and industrial designon the basis of combining the relationship between the human with security. After that,I will put forward some principles associated with industrial design during theprocess of manufacturing.In the analysis of industrial product design, I have adopted a multi-disciplinarycrossing research method, which is based on design methodological, safety science,social psychology, ergonomics, and mass-communication etc. And then, in the viewof the situation of present industrial design, I have proposed several principles ofsafety design that designers should follow. In the course of studies, the research onthe relationship between products and sensation will contribute significantly to the safety design and its materialization, scientization, standardization and humanization.And the results which are based on it will promote the designers to study thecorrelation between human beings and design. What’s more, it also has somereference value and guiding significance for the development of product safetydesign.
