Research On Macrotexture Wear And Skid Resistance Degradation Of Asphalt Pavement

Pavement skid resistance is an important factor impacting the traffic safety. How tocontrol the degradation of pavement skid resistance is an important problem, manyresearchers pay attention to. Pavement macrotexture wear is an important factor for skidresistance degradation of asphalt pavement. Therefore, the research for the relationshipbetween skid resistance degradation of asphalt pavement and pavement macrotexture wear isvery important.The field tests are conducted at many test sites with various highway grades andpavement types. Tracking tests of pavement macrotexture and skid resistance function lastsmore than two years beginning of the early days of these new roads. This work uses sandingmethod and3D scanning method for pavement macrotexture test. The friction coefficients aretested using the dynamic friction tester (DFT) for pavement skid resistance function test.According to analyzing change trends of many macrotexture indicators of different types withopening days, the macrotexture indicators of obvious degradation regularity are selected. Andthe change regularity of these macrotexture indicators can be used to describe the wearregularity of asphalt pavement macrotexture. For the research of pavement skid resistancedegradation, various skid resistance indicators are selected to use. And the degradation trendsof these skid resistance indicators with opening days are analyzed. Then, using SPSS software,a model of skid resistance degradation with opening days is attempted to construct fordescribing the regularity of skid resistance degradation with opening days. Finally,collaborative degradation path between pavement macrotexture indicator and skid resistanceindicator is analyzed. And using SPSS software, a model is attempted to construct to describethe collaborative degradation path between pavement macrotexture indicator and skidresistance indicator. The degradation regularity of pavement skid resistance with pavementmacrotexture wear can be described.This work provides the foundation for the further development of asphalt pavement skidresistance degradation with macrotexture wear. It is helpful for the control of asphaltpavement skid resistance degradation.
