“Strategic projection capability is a national comprehensive national strength andmilitary power of the basic symbol, is the important foundation of the national strategicdeterrent, is implementing informatization condition bottom allied army cooperationand non war military operations essential power to support”[1].Vast territory, thewestern China borders, long national geographical environment, special safety potentialvariable, surrounding areas have instability, transportation network large aperture,density is small, and the mode of transportation is relatively single, is the main way ofmilitary struggle preparation and one of the key areas. Road and rail transport is themain way of current military transport in the western region, its military transportnetwork path selection restriction factors, many complicated constraint conditions,makes the military transportation path optimization choice is all the moredifficult.Therefore, based on the western region traffic network layout of the status quo,research the military transportation path optimization problem, has important theoreticalvalue and practical significance. This paper mainly do the following work:1. Military transport related concepts, this paper analyzes the western region borderdefensive counter-attack fighting military transport security requirements, find theexisting problems.2. Starting from the present situation of west road and rail network, using themethod of graph theory, multi-mode layer network, the geographical area in the figureof railway, highway, national highway and provincial highway with defensesignificance and important border highway and its counties and townships and partsrelated to the network connection path into abstract network diagram, set up manyconstraints in the western region and iron joint military transportation network graphmodel.3. In the iron joint military transportation network graph model as the foundation,according to military railway train running time, boarded the bus waiting time andloading unloading and transfer time, and the running time for iron joint militaryhighway transportation of objective function model is set up and delivery time foralgorithm research.4. With shortest as single objective and iron joint military transport way as the basis, considering the transport time and vehicle, yard, spare parts, such as operationalsupport multiple objective conditions, explore the new mode of public iron combinedtransport, based on multi-objective iron joint path of the mathematical model under thecondition of transportation decision.5. A mechanized infantry as an instance, validate and form a new mode based onmulti-objective joint military transport scheme.Finally, the paper summarizes the research work and research results, analyzes thedeficiencies, the future remains to be further in-depth study.
