Construction industry develops fast. The engineering geological exploration is onebasic process of project construction, and quality problems in the exploration wouldseriously affect the project decision-making, construction drawing design, foundationconstruction technology, etc. Therefore, it is particularly important that how to do riskmanagement of exploration quality with excellent quality and high efficiency.Through interviews with colleagues/leaders/experts and the author’s engineeringexperience, an influencing factor list for exploration quality risk is preliminarilyestablished in this paper, and then reasonability of this list is verified by manyengineering project cases, and then extensive literature review and questionnaire surveyare made to supplement missing key risk factors, and finally the list of26risk factorsaffecting exploration quality is summarized., in which there are9caused byconstruction units,11caused by prospecting units, and6caused by others.After determining the risk list of the geological exploration quality, throughliterature review, interview, questionnaire survey, and expert scoring, this paper makes aqualitative and quantitative evaluation analysis of risk list. According to the score orderof the quantitative evaluation, the risk factors could be sorted, and the top ten are"Technicians’ low quality/No responsibility/Bad attitude","Low cost","Manysubcontractors/subcontracting/inveracious subordinate","Shortage of Humanresource/Material resource/Financial resource,"Unreasonable duration","Low level ofproject manager/Inexperienced project manager","Halfhearted reconnaissance/Carelessreconnaissance","Indefinite project range/Preliminary design intent is not clear","Irrational team structure","Not review design documents". In the risk list,4factors arecaused by construction units,5factors caused by prospecting units, and1factor causedby others, which shows that improving exploration quality is based on joint efforts ofconstruction units and prospecting units.Based on the above, this paper puts forward solutions of the engineering geologicalexploration quality risk, such as: construction units determine the winning bidder, setaside a certain profit space, give bidders adequate time of exploration, organize expertsto review design, implement the supervision system, actively cooperate with the drillingwork and provide relevant materials, etc.; prospecting units give the staff ideologicaleducation, professional and technical training, implement the reward and punishmentsystem, fulfill promises, invest abundant resources, and strictly implement the qualitymanagement system, etc.; supervision units strengthen the self-learning ability, andstrictly perform next station according to the requirements of supervision specification,etc.; Administrative supervision departments improve the qualifications, strictlyimplement the system of registered engineers,do irregular inspections, and encourage technological innovation, etc.Finally, the author gives a detailed analysis of the economic and socialconsequences after the implementation of risk management in this project, and theanalysis verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the conclusions above of riskmanagement measures.
